Coronavirus & Our Deliveries

As concern over the spread of the coronavirus deepens, here are some things we think you should know about our deliveries:

— First, it is highly unlikely that the virus could be transmitted from the surface of a package –  According to the World Health Organization(WHO) “It is very unlikely that the virus will persist on a surface after it has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperatures.” Here is an article that cites several experts including the WHO that discusses it further!

— The virus does not survive on the surface of packages – The CDC website puts it this way:  “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets. Currently, there is no evidence to support the transmission of 2019-nCoV associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of 2019-nCoV in the United States associated with imported goods.”

— We offer “contactless delivery” – Should your people be concerned about contact with those delivering packages, we offer the option of leaving your deliveries outside your office door. If you would like “contactless delivery”, let us know when you request your delivery or email us at [email protected]. In addition, so that you can feel confident about your delivery, we will take a picture of where we dropped off the package and send it to you.

— Our drivers are fighting the spread of the virus – we have the tools to maintain sanitary conditions. We promote frequent and thorough hand-washing by employees, and they travel with hand-sanitizers and gloves as a precaution.

— We have a policy that if any staff members are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or have had a fever in the past 24 hours should either take a sick day or work remotely from home.

We at Xcel Delivery Services realize the responsibility we have to keep the wheels of commerce moving in Arizona regardless of the challenges.  We want to assure you that we are taking every precaution to keep our team and you healthy and safe and that we are ready for any extra demands for deliveries your customers request of you.  You can depend on us – as always – to deliver anything anywhere.
